IMTrack Bracket Seeding Methods

Seed All Teams

All teams in the league will be seeded based on their Ranking. You can choose to populate the teams immediately or to wait until a later time. You can eliminate teams from the playoffs based on sportsmanship or bad results.

Seed Ranked Teams

Teams that fall within the minimum and maximum rankings will be seeded in order of their Ranking. You can specify any range of teams, say 1-16 for the Top 16 teams (A), 17-32 for the second 16 teams (B). The highest rank would be 1 for bracket A and 17 for bracket B. Likewise, the lowest rank would be 16 for A and 32 for B. You can eliminate teams based on sportsmanship and bad results. The number of teams in the bracket will be reduced if a team is eliminated. You may have to change the "lowest rank" setting if you want to keep the number of teams intact. For example, on Bracket A if the 12th ranked team is ineligible, then a fifteen team bracket will be created. The Lowest Rank would have to be changed to 17 to keep a sixteen team bracket. Alternatively, you can use the wild card option to increase the number of teams that qualified.

Seed Teams Based on Division Standings

Teams that finish the regular season/pool play in the selected standings place will be seeded in order of their Ranking. You can specify any range of place, say 1-2 for the first and second place teams (A), 3-3 for only the third place teams (B). The highest place would be 1 for bracket A and 3 for bracket B. Likewise, the lowest place would be 2 for A and 3 for B. You can eliminate teams based on sportsmanship and bad results. The number of teams in the bracket will be reduced if a team is eliminated. You can use the wild card option to qualify the next highest ranked team(s) that did not finish in the correct standings position. You can also excempt teams based on the number of games played.

Seed Based on Winning Percentage

Teams that finish the regular season/pool play within a specified winning percentage will be seeded in order of their Ranking. You can specify any range of winning percentage, say 0.50-1 for teams with a 500 or higher record (A), 0-0.499 for teams with a losing record (B). The lowest percentage would be 0.5 for bracket A and 0 for bracket B. Likewise, the highest percentage would be 1 for A and 0.499 for B. You can eliminate teams based on sportsmanship and bad results. The number of teams in the bracket will be reduced if a team is eliminated. You can use the wild card option to qualify the next highest ranked team(s) that did not finish with the required winning percentage. You can also excempt teams based on the number of games played.

Seed Based on Number of Wins

Teams that finish the regular season/pool play with the specified numbers of wins will be seeded in order of their Ranking. You can specify any range of wins, say 3-4 for teams with a 3 or 4 wins (A), 2-2 for teams with exactly 2 wins (B). The minimum wins would be 3 for bracket A and 2 for bracket B. Likewise, the maximum wins would be 4 for A and 2 for B. You can eliminate teams based on sportsmanship and bad results. The number of teams in the bracket will be reduced if a team is eliminated. You can use the wild card option to qualify the next highest ranked team(s) that did not finish with the required number of wins. You can also excempt teams based on the number of games played.

Manually Seed Teams

You will be able to specify the number of teams for the bracket, then manually pick which team qualified for each seed.

Pre Determined Slot Based on Division Standings

This bracket is similar to the Seed Teams Based on Division Standings, except that instead of seeding the teams based on Ranking the teams will go to a pre-determined slot in the bracket. You will be able to pick the places that would potentially qualify for the bracket, as well as the number of teams you want to have in the bracket. An example would be if you have two divisions and want to do a four team bracket, you can do assign Pool A Place 1 to Seed 1, Pool B Place 1 to Seed 2, Pool A Place 2 to Seed 3 and Pool B Place 2 to Seed 4. When the regular season games are done, you can then lock in the teams into their slots based on the standings.

Pre Determined Slot Based on Other Playoff Brackets

This bracket allows you to run brackets based on the results of other brackets. The most common example would be the NCAA Basketball Tournament, where you have 4 brackets of Sixteen teams. The Final Four bracket would be a unique bracket where you can assign the winner of each Regional bracket to the correct slot in the Final Four bracket. You can assign winners and losers to these brackets. Another common example would be a three game guarantee bracket, where the losers of the first round would play in a consolation bracket. The losers of the semi finals of the main bracket would be advanced to a Third Place Game 2 team bracket. The loser of the consolation semi finals would be advanced to a seventh place 2 team bracket.
